What to Expect from Newborn Photography with Kelley Renee - Savannah Newborn Photographer

Richmond Hill, GA Newborn Photographer

If you’ve never booked with a Richmond Hill newborn photographer, then you may not know what it’s all about, how the process works, and why I may be a great fit for your and your newest addition! Many of my clients come to me with tons of questions because they’ve never had a newborn photo session before and that’s ok! They might be welcoming their first baby to the family or they might have just never invested in newborn photography for their other kids and they want those special portraits this time around. Whatever the case may be, here’s a look at what you can expect from the newborn photography process at my studio.

Where is Kelley Renee Photography?

At Kelley Renee Photography I shoot all of our posed newborn sessions either in our Richmond Hill studio or in any of the surrounding cities below.

The Booking Process

Ideally, you want your baby’s newborn photos to be taken within a 2-3 weeks of their birth, but photographers may book up months in advance. It’s best to reach out to my studio after your first trimester of pregnancy to secure a spot in my calendar. We’ll talk over the phone, email, or text (whichever is easiest for you) about what you have in mind for your portraits. After your baby is born, you’ll contact me again and we’ll finalize a date for your session - after I’ve finished showering you with congratulations, of course!

The Newborn Photo Session

On the day of your photo session, your experience will depend on the type of session you have chosen. I offer three packages: Heirloom, Keepsake, or Petite. The session will last between 1 hour and 3 hours depending on your package. In an Heirloom or Keepsake session, make sure you and your partner are camera-ready, along with your baby’s siblings if you would like to include them, because I’ll take portraits of your entire newly grown family.

For any type of session, though, you don’t need to worry about bringing outfits or accessories for your baby because I have everything we’ll need! My goal is to not only create stunning portraits of your baby that you’ll treasure for life but also to make the process easy and relaxed for you. Just bring your lovely family and anything you might want or need to keep yourself and your baby comfortable throughout the session. We’ll talk through more of the specifics and my recommendations when we’re planning your session during the booking process.

Your Finished Newborn Portraits

As much as you might enjoy your baby’s photo session, we all know what you’re actually looking forward to most: the pictures! Don’t worry, because I make that process as easy and low-stress for you as possible too.

Within a week after your photo session, I’ll send you a digital proofing gallery with all the gorgeous portraits from your baby’s session. You’ll choose your favorites based on the collection you purchased, and then I’ll do a finishing edit on those selections and send you your final portraits in high-resolution downloads. I’ll include a print release too so you’ll be able to use those beautiful portraits to make framed prints, canvas prints, gifts for loved ones, or whatever you choose.

Looking Ahead to Your Newborn Photo Session

There are few things in life that I enjoy more than helping new parents celebrate their precious baby with portraits that will become cherished heirlooms for them to enjoy forever, and I’d love to do the same for you! Contact Kelley Renee Photography to chat about the newborn photo session of your dreams and let’s make it happen.
